Homemade Garlic Bread (VIDEO) By Kelly Miller • July1,2019 • 2 Comments 481 Jump to Recipe Jump to VideoHomemade Garlic Bread is SO easy! Butter, mayo, garlic, Parmesan, and parsley spread onto French bread and baked until crispy! Have you ever tried making homemade garlic bread instead of the frozen version? It honestly takes maybe a minute or two more to mix up and spread, rather than break up the frozen garlic bread slices and put on the baking sheet. And the taste. OH MY. I was always one to finish my plate of pasta and go back and snack on the remaining garlic bread. And this garlic bread recipe is DANGEROUS! It’s a good thing it makes 16 large slices because you’ll be fighting your family over this one! Where do I find French bread for this recipe? I love the French bread loaves at Walmart in the bakery section. Most grocery stores will have freshly baked loaves. Is Italian bread the same as a baguette? No, baguette loaves are very narrow and much crispier than French bread loaves. Can I use dried parsley instead of fresh? Yes, use about 1 tablespoon of dried parsley instead of fresh. How to make Homemade Garlic Bread: In a bowl, mix together butter, mayo, Parmesan, garlic, and parsley. Spread evenly over cut side of Italian bread loaf. Wrap each half in foil and bake. Carefully unwrap loaf halves. Broil in the oven until edges are crispy. Slice and serve! Can the garlic butter spread be made ahead of time? Absolutely! Mix and cover tightly; store in the fridge. Allow mixture to come to room temperature before spreading and baking. Can homemade garlic bread be frozen? Yes! Wrap each half in foil and freeze. Bake directly from frozen, but increase baking time by 10 minutes or so – or until desired doneness.
