A delicious pull apart bread perfect for soup or pasta night! It feels like spring FINALLY around here and I am DYING to get into my garden and start some veggies and herbs this year! I live in Central Pennsylvania and it’s SO tempted right now to get out there and plant, we still have temps close to 30 degrees some nights – that would not be good for those poor tomatoes!  We’re in a new house this summer and there’s a school playset a few yards from our back gate so I KNOW we’ll be spending practically the whole summer out there while the boys play. It will give me plenty of time to weed, water, and harvest – I’ve been known to do none of these in the past with plants, haha! I’ve read that both basil and spinach are great at keeping the buggies away from vegetable plants and since we eat so much of both, I’m definitely putting those in the ground. I’d love to have a few different tomato varieties, cucumbers, and peppers out there too. Why spend oodles of money on organic groceries at the store, when you can grow your own right in your backyard?!  There she is – my beautiful little basil plant! I’m really loving this organic soil, and I can’t wait to put this little bugger in the ground in a few weeks! This Parmesan, Garlic, & Basil Monkey Bread will be one of the first things I make with my garden herbs – it’s such a different twist on the classic, sweet pull-apart bread. This would go perfect with a pasta dish!   What’s your favorite tip for growing backyard veggies and herbs? What soil/materials do you use most? I’m open for any and all suggestions this year!
