The perfect summer meal! Chicken drumsticks are one of my kids’ all time favorite meals. It’s a delicious dinner that you can eat with you hands, which is no wonder they love them! The tangy marinade in these Grilled Chicken Drumsticks kick the flavor up a notch, too! This is a great recipe to try on your outdoor gas grill, or even an indoor counter top grill like a George Foreman. I loved that grill when my older kids were babies! It made grilling so much easier during the colder months of the year. Should I boil drumsticks before grilling? No need boil chicken drumsticks before grilling! You’ll grill these at medium-high, 450 degrees, flipping until they’re done (a good meat thermometer is useful here). How long do you barbeque chicken for? Grilled chicken is done when the internal temperature is 185 – 190 degrees – which will depend on the thickness of the chicken. Chicken drumsticks take about 30 – 35 minutes. Can regular vinegar be used instead of apple cider vinegar? No, the tangy flavor of this marinade comes primarily from the flavor of the apple cider vinegar. How to make grilled chicken drumsticks: Whisk together the apple cider vinegar, egg, butter, olive oil, and spices. Reserve 1/2 cup of the mixture for basting. Place chicken and remaining marinade in a sealed container and marinade for at least 2 hours. Remove chicken from marinade and grill over medium high heat for 35 minutes, basting using reserved marinade. Chicken is done when internal temperature reaches 185 degrees. Mary Beth says June 24, 2019 at 2:37 am How do you recommend using a George Foreman? Would you put the lid down and shorten cooking times or leave lid open and still cook for 35 minutes? Reply
