Grilled Crab Legs By Kelly Miller • June7,2019 • 1 Comment 2.9K 23 Jump to Recipe Grilled Crab Legs are perfect for your next summer BBQ! Sweet crab meat infused with smoky grill flavor – absolutely irresistible! Our family just got back from a short beach vacation to Ocean City, Maryland. We were in crab heaven down there! I think we all agreed we need to have more crab in our lives in a regular basis, so these Grilled Crab Legs are going to be on the menu very soon! It may be intimidating to cook crab legs at home, but really, and I’m not even kidding here – it’s honestly one of the easiest things you can make at home. I love that crab legs come packaged, frozen at the grocery store. Keep them in the freezer until you are ready! Believe it or not, I actually picked up those cute red baskets and red checkered wax paper sheets at my local dollar store! So if you’re making this recipe for a backyard BBQ, check there first for those baskets for easy serving along with an ear of grilled corn. Do I need to thaw crab legs before grilling? Nope! Just like if you were to steam them on the stove, the crab legs go on the grill frozen. How do you grill frozen crab legs? Heat your gas grill to 350 – 400 degrees Remove 2 – 3 crab legs from the clusters (these will be used to test doneness) Place frozen crab leg clusters directly on the grill for 4 minutes on one side, 3 – 4 minutes on the other Crack open one of the separate legs to see if they are done to your liking! How do you know when the crab legs are done? When you crack open the legs, the meat should be orange – red in color. If it’s still greyish, cook them for another minute or two. How do crab legs taste grilled? SO GOOD! Honestly, they just have an added smoky grill flavor to the normal sweet crabmeat. Dipped in butter – OMG, you’ll love this fun way to cook crab legs! What should I serve with king crab legs? We love grilled corn! But you could also serve roasted potatoes and rolls with butter as well.
