Perfect for dipping in oil or next to a hot bowl of soup! Having a recipe for no knead focaccia bread is something every home cook needs to have on the ready! This one is just perfect for new bread makers. There’s no kneading to be done! Simply mix and let rise. Poke holes and let rise again. Bake until done. Super simple – even kids can make this one! You honestly don’t need a reason to make this focaccia – but it goes really well with a nice homemade soup for dinner. We actually just enjoy this as a hearty, filling appetizer. Grab some seasoned Italian dipping oil or even warmed marinara sauce, slice the focaccia into strips, and serve. Delicious! Which flour is best for focaccia? Regular, all purpose flour, is what I always use to make focaccia. No need to buy anything fancy here! What type of yeast is needed for this recipe? You’ll need a packet of “rapid rise yeast” for this focaccia. The yeast activates easily which is why you won’t need to knead the bread dough at all. What’s in this recipe? Only a few simple, pantry ready ingredients for this one! all purpose flour rapid rise yeast warm water, heated to 120 – 130 degrees Fahrenheit sugar olive oil dried Italian seasoning grated Parmesan cheese How warm should the water be? Any kind of yeast need warm water to activate. Rapid rise yeast need a bit warmer since all of the ingredients are adding in together at the same time. The water should be between 120 – 130 degrees Fahrenheit. You can achieve this in one of these two ways: Heat water in the microwave for 1 minute and use an instant read cooking thermometer Let your kitchen faucet run on the hottest setting for about a minute and use an instant read coking thermometer How to make this recipe: In a large mixing bowl, add in the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt. Mix these ingredients together well. 2. To this mixture, add in the olive oil and the warm water. With a large spatula, stir well to moisten all of the dry ingredients. 3. Spray a 9 x 13 inch baking dish well with non stick cooking spray. Transfer the bread dough into the dish. Using the spatula, spread the bread dough out to cover the bottom of the dish. Cover with a dish towel and let the dough rise for 30 minutes in a warm area. 4. Remove the dish towel. Poke holes in the top of the dough with the handle of a wooden spoon, about 2 inches apart. Drizzle olive oil over top, then sprinkle with dried Italian seasoning and grated Parmesan cheese. Cover again with the dish towel and allow it to rise again for 30 minutes in a warm spot. 5. Remove the dish towel and bake the focaccia bread in an oven preheated at 375 degrees for 30 minutes. It should be golden brown on top. Allow the focaccia to cool to room temperature. Slice into strips and serve! Should focaccia be served warm or cold? Typically, focaccia is to be served at room temperature. But you can certainly serve it warm or even toasted if you like. How to store focaccia: Wrap leftover focaccia slices in wax paper, place in a plastic bag, and refrigerate for up to three days. Reheat in the microwave until warm as desired. Freezer directions: Just like storing the leftovers, wrap slices of focaccia in wax paper, place in a freezer bag, and freeze for up to 3 months. Have the focaccia thaw in the refrigerator overnight before warming and serving.
