Such a fun weeknight dinner! Grilled cheese sandwiches were an absolute staple in our house growing up. Two slice of white bread, fresh deli sliced American cheese (none of that singles business), buttered, and cooked in a skillet. My mom was good at grilled cheese, and still is. Thanks, mom! 🙂 Now, here’s the deal. My boys love grilled cheese. I love eating grilled cheese. But I’m constantly trying new things and coming up with different recipes, that I never make them anymore. Now before you get to thinking I’m a horrible mommy, they pretty much ALWAYS have dessert of some kind in the house. And if it’s not already made, I have all the ingredients to make whatever it is that they’re asking for. SO there. If you’re a regular grilled-cheese-maker in your house, this is a MUST TRY for your family. It’s such a fun and yummy twist on the traditional sandwich, and with the sloppy joe filling and the cheddar, almost an entirely different flavor. Unlike the regular variety, there’s no need to amp this one up with soup of some kind – it’s definitely filling on its own. I went the healthy route and served with some fries (ha) but feel free to pair it with some veggies. Yummy, cheesy, beefy, goodness!
