Traditional monkey bread is a recipe that uses refrigerated biscuits cut into pieces and coated in cinnamon sugar before baking. The result is a delicious, pull-apart style bread. Monkey bread has been around for years! This Apple Pie Monkey Bread adds chopped apples to the mix, along with apple pie spice, to kick the flavor up a notch. We love this version! Perfect for using up a couple of apples just hanging out on your counter. This one is great for a brunch or a dessert! What’s in this recipe? You’ll need 24 oz refrigerated biscuits for this recipe. Some stores carry 8 oz tubes, but my walmart only carried 6 oz tubes. Use what you can find! How to make this recipe? Cut biscuits into quarters. 2. Place quartered biscuits in a mixing bowl and add sugar and apple pie spice. Toss to coat pieces well. 3. Add in chopped apples and toss again to combine ingredients well. 4. Spray a Bundt pan with nonstick spray and spread biscuit mixture evenly into pan. Drizzle melted butter over top. 5. Bake until golden. Invert cake onto a serving platter. This is best served warm! What kind of refrigerated biscuits are used in this recipe? You’ll need the classic, smaller biscuits. I typically buy Pillsbury brand. While the Grands rolls might work for this recipe, I have not tried it as of yet. What is a substitute for apple pie spice? It doesn’t even taste sugar-free LOL Reply
