Christmas Candy Cabin By Kelly Miller • November1,2019 • Updated October 21, 2020 • 1 Comment 421 Jump to Recipe This adorable Christmas Candy Cabin is a fun and festive table centerpiece for this holiday season! Easy for the kiddos to join in and help decorate as well! So, what’s something fun and festive that you can make out of HERSHEY’S Milk Chocolate Bars, KIT KAT® Bar King Size, Family Size HERSHEY’S KISSES Milk Chocolates, Share Size REESE’S Peanut Butter Cups, REESE’S PIECES Candy, and Kellogg’s Rice Krispies? This absolutely ADORABLE Candy Cabin! I know we all have high hopes of making fun, traditional gingerbread houses with the kids around the holidays. That usually involves baking the actual gingerbread pieces, cutting them correctly, and hoping the pieces fit together. Honestly, making this Christmas Candy Cabin was SO MUCH EASIER! HERSHEY’s Milk Chocolate Bars and KIT KAT Bars King Size have those natural perforations that break easily. Just use some melted chocolate to stick them together! I had so much fun putting the cabin together that I had to get my kids involved. They helped out by making the adorable Christmas trees made out of Share Size REESE’S Peanut Butter Cups and Family Size HERSHEY’S KISSES Milk Chocolates. Held together by—you guessed it—more melted chocolate! It worked like a charm for my kids, too, and I think their decorations on the Christmas trees are just adorable as well. How to make a Candy Cabin: Cut sections of your Rice Krispies Treats and Hershey Bars to your desired cabin size. Place 8 individual broken up Hershey bar sections into a gallon size heavy duty plastic zip top bag. Microwave for 30 second intervals on 50% power until melted. Snip off the end and use the melted chocolate to assemble your cabin. Place in the refrigerator to help harden the chocolate when needed. To create candy Christmas trees, unwrap a few Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and Hershey Kisses. Use the melted chocolate to stack two Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and one Hershey Kiss to create trees. Place in the refrigerator to help the chocolate harden. Place the Candy Cabin and the Christmas Trees on a charger. Use colored icing, graham crackers, and Reese’s Pieces candies to decorate the outside of the cabin and the trees. Break up the Kit Kat bar and use those as the pathway through the coconut “snow” to the cabin doorstep. Use your creativity for this—no two candy cabins will be alike. That’s the fun part of the activity! How do you store the candy cabin? It’s best to store the candy cabin in the refrigerator until you are ready to display to prevent the chocolate from melting. Candy Cabin Pro Tips: Have wet hand wipes ready to wipe melted chocolate that drizzles out Re-microwave chocolate as needed to keep it melted Have a shelf in your refrigerator cleared and ready ahead of time Grab various Hershey candy decorating supplies to have on hand—you never know what you might use to decorate with! It really was super convenient to find all these products at my local Giant! I love being able to make a list and grab everything I need for a recipe when I grocery shop there. It’s my favorite grocery store! If you liked this Christmas Candy Cabin recipe, leave a rating and a comment below this post!
