Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Bread (VIDEO) By Kelly Miller • October24,2019 • 1 Comment 200 Jump to Recipe Jump to VideoThis Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Bread recipe is perfect for friends and family! With pumpkin puree and yummy chocolate chips in the batter, this makes 3 loaves of bread to enjoy and give away this fall! I honestly can’t think of a more delicious pumpkin treat than classic Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Bread, can you?! This perfect recipe has just the right amount of sugar to make it not too sweet, and the BEST combination of spices. Your home will smell wonderful with these breads baking in the oven! I just love recipes that make multiple loaves. I made this in the middle of the week and we enjoyed one loaf of chocolate chip pumpkin bread for breakfasts. The remaining two loaves we brought with us to a church dinner to share with friends. You could also wrap them up tightly and freeze for your family to enjoy later! Can I substitute applesauce for the oil? Yes! I’ve done this many times, and it turns out great. The bread will be a bit more moist and dense with the applesauce, but the flavor will still be wonderful. Can you freeze pumpkin bread? Yes! Wrap the loaves tightly with plastic wrap and place wrapped breads in a large freezer bag. Thaw bread overnight in the fridge. How to make chocolate chip pumpkin bread: Add dry ingredients to a mixing bowl and stir until well combined. Add the wet ingredients to a mixing bowl and beat with a hand mixer until well combined. Combine wet and dry mixture in a very large mixing bowl (my stand mixer bowl worked well for this). Stir until just moistened. Add in the chocolate chips and stir well. Divide batter evenly among 3 loaf pans sprayed with nonstick spray. Bake and cool! What size loaf pans are used? You’ll need three greased 9 inch loaf pans for this recipe. I used nonstick spray to grease the pans well. Should they be cooled on wire racks? I like to let the loaves cool about 10 minutes in the pans, and then turn them out onto wire racks to fully cool. Can chocolate chip pumpkin bread be served for breakfast? It depends on your definition of breakfast, but we sure did! This recipe contains less sugar than most, so I felt just fine serving this to my kids for breakfast. You could omit the chocolate chips and use raisins instead if you’d like, but if I did that I’d have a mutiny on my hands!
