Buffalo Chicken Salad By Kelly Miller • April22,2019 • 8 Comments 15.3K 6 Jump to Recipe Jump to Video This Buffalo Chicken Salad uses hot sauce, diced celery, and seasonings. Chicken salad kicked up a notch! Making a batch of this Buffalo Chicken Salad is a HUGE timesaver for the week! I like to make it for dinner one night and then keep the leftovers in the fridge for lunches or quick meals if we have a busy week. What kind of chicken is used? This recipe uses three large (12 oz) cans of cooked chicken. You could also use 2 – 3 cooked chicken breasts if that’s what you have on hand. Can buffalo chicken salad be made ahead of time? Absolutely – that’s one of my favorite things about this recipe! Mix it up and store it in a tight-lidded plastic container in the fridge. Be sure to eat it within a week. What kind of hot sauce is used? I like to use the Aldi brand of hot sauce, but you can use the name brand Tabasco sauce if that’s what your family prefers. How to make Buffalo Chicken Salad: Place cooked chicken and diced celery in a mixing bowl. Add in mayo, sour cream, hot sauce, minced onion, and garlic powder. Mix well. Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours before serving. Can this recipe be frozen? It is not recommended to freeze this recipe as it would change the texture and consistency of the mayonnaise and sour cream. Serving suggestions: Hawaiian slider rolls are our favorite way to enjoy this buffalo chicken salad! It makes such a great game day snack, too! Whole wheat wraps are a great way to enjoy this high protein salad when you’re trying to cut carbs. Enjoy this over a bed of mixed salad greens with a drizzle of ranch dressing! Kelly @ Mostly Homemade Mom says June 26, 2015 at 11:05 am That is so funny Sammie – and I am the opposite with spicy things right now! It makes sense though, with all my heartburn you'd think I'd want nothing to do with spicy foods haha! Reply
