This rustic Apple Cinnamon Bread is perfect for chilly fall mornings! Freshly chopped apples, cinnamon, nutmeg, and brown sugar give such a classic flavor to this sweet breakfast bread. I feel like the morning is when I first begin to notice that fall is on the horizon. The air outside is just a bit more chilly and there’s a certain cozy feeling that just sort of arrives. A slice of rustic Apple Cinnamon Bread, made with McCormick Gourmetâ„¢ Organic Ground Saigon Cinnamon and McCormick Gourmetâ„¢ Organic Ground Nutmeg, is just perfect next to your hot coffee or tea this time of the year! I just love recipes like this one – with a limited amount of overall ingredients, it really allows the sweetness and the spices to really shine. It really makes a difference using quality spices like McCormick Gourmetâ„¢. The McCormick Gourmetâ„¢ Cinnamon adds a rich, spicy-sweet flavor to a wide variety of dishes, and I highly recommend it. Be sure to add them both to your next trip through Giant! What type of apples are used in this recipe? I recommend using Fuji or Gala apples, though most any apple variety would do well here. Better yet – save this recipe for when your family goes apple picking! What size loaf pan is needed for this bread? I typically grab my 9 x 5 inch loaf pan, but since this bread has a minimal rise, a smaller loaf pan would be fine as well. How finely diced should the apples be to cook through? Fairly small, about 1/2″ pieces are best in this recipe. How to make Apple Cinnamon Bread: In a small bowl, stir together brown sugar, McCormick Gourmetâ„¢ Ground Saigon Cinnamon and McCormick Gourmetâ„¢ Ground Nutmeg. Set bowl aside. In a larger bowl, beat together butter, sugar, and eggs. Add in flour, baking powder, and milk. Stir until just moistened. Spray a loaf pan with non-stick spray. Spread half of the batter in the bottom. Sprinkle with half of the chopped apples and half of the brown sugar mixture. Repeat layers one more time. Bake until a cake tester comes out clean when inserted into the center of the bread. Cool, slice, and serve! Oh boy do I wish you could smell the sweet cinnamon and nutmeg that is throughout my house right now! Pro tips for this recipe: Peel and chop the apples ahead of time – don’t worry about any browning of the apples, that won’t change the flavor in any way. Use high-quality spices, like McCormick Gourmetâ„¢, for recipes like this one. Easily double this bread to make two loaves – one for you and one for a friend! These amazing spices can easily be found in the baking aisle of your local Giant. I love how they have the McCormick Gourmetâ„¢ spices all in one section of the spice area – it makes it really simple to locate the spice that you need.
