Great for your next party appetizer! Many years ago when I was first married, I used to sell Tastefully Simple products, and we became addicted to their beer bread! Lucky for us, and for you, too – this Beer Bread Recipe tastes just like Tastefully Simple’s beer bread! What kind of beer is used for this recipe? I used Yuengling, but any 12 oz bottle of beer that you may have on hand will work for this beer bread recipe. Can non-alcoholic beer be used in this recipe? Absolutely! You can even use soda. Any 12 oz carbonated beverage will work. Soda will change the beer flavor, but they’re delicious as well. Step by step beer bread recipe directions: In a medium-sized mixing bowl, stir flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar together. Pour in a 12 oz bottle of beer and stir until just moistened. The batter will be lumpy! Spread batter into a well-greased loaf pan and spread it out to fit into the edges of the pan. Drizzle melted butter over the top of the batter. Bake at 350 degrees for 55 minutes – 1 hour. Allow the bread to cool completely before serving. Serving suggestions with beer bread: Cubed beer bread is served best with dips as an appetizer! I like this Best Ever Chip Dip and also this basic garlic dip. Slices of this beer bread recipe go great with chili as well! Can this beer bread recipe be frozen? Along with most other baked goods, beer bread is great frozen! Just wrap it well with foil or plastic wrap and store it in a gallon sized freezer bag. Allow frozen bread to thaw overnight before serving. If you liked this Beer Bread Recipe, leave a rating and a comment below this post! Patti Westrick says September 3, 2018 at 7:44 pm What size loaf pan?? Do you test for doneness as you do for a cake; like with a cake tester/wooden scewer?? I’m not much of a baker but this sounds really good & thought I might be able to do this!! Reply
Kelly Miller says September 6, 2018 at 2:19 am I use a standard 9 x 5 inch loaf pan. The bread is done when a wooden skewer comes out clean and the top of the bread is golden. I hope that helps, enjoy, Patti! Reply
