It’s not even Halloween yet, I know. Heck, it’s only been fall for what, three weeks? We were still using the air conditioner three nights ago, thanks to August who decided it wasn’t done with us just yet. :/ I L.O.V.E. Black Friday shopping and in recent years, I do a lot of it online. Which is what makes me love Black Friday even more – Thanksgiving leftovers. Yep, you read that right. You get all the fun and adrenaline of scoring that awesome deal, sitting on your couch wearing stretchy pajama pants, and feasting on all the yummy leftovers from the night before. You know what, though? This dessert is absolutely perfect to enjoy after a huge feast. It tastes almost exactly like an apple pie, served on top of angel food cake, with whipped cream on top and a drizzle of the caramel apple sauce. The Angel Food Cake alone is only 130 calories per serving, which is CRAZY for how good it tastes! You get all of the delicious flavors of apple pie, alongside the light sweetness of the angel food cake and whipped cream. I’m telling you SO unbelievably good! I mean I’m actually going to go out on a limb here and say that this is an amazing, and much easier alternative to apple pie. No need to make the pie crust perfect, roll it out, prebake it, and all of that craziness. Make the apple pie filling in the skillet and serve it over angel food cake. Dinner is done, dessert was incredible, and you’re ready to do some deal hunting. 🙂 Oh my word, you simply will not believe how something so easy to prepare can taste so good!
