The perfect vegetable salad side dish to take to parties! Oh how nice it is to have this bright and fresh Broccoli Cauliflower Salad in my kitchen right now! This gorgeous salad has me pining for warm spring weather and I can’t wait! Believe it or not, broccoli and cauliflower are cold weather vegetables. I love growing them in my kitchen garden and would grow so much more if it didn’t take up so much square foot space – ha! Either way, this delicious salad is perfect any time of the year for sure. For the recipe video tutorial, scroll down to the recipe card at the bottom of this post! Can I use whole heads of broccoli and cauliflower instead? Of course, use what you have on hand or what’s available to you! You’ll need about half of a head each of broccoli and cauliflower broken up into florets for this salad. Can I substitute prepared ranch dressing? I don’t recommend doing this, but if you’re super short on time it would work. The flavor profile wouldn’t be as pronounced, though. How to make broccoli cauliflower salad: In a small bowl, stir together mayonnaise and dry ranch dressing mix. In a large mixing bowl, add in broccoli and cauliflower (breaking up larger pieces as needed), dried cranberries, bacon pieces, and the ranch dressing mixture. Gently mix ingredients until coated well with ranch mixture. Cover and refrigerate at least two hours before serving. Where do I find dry ranch seasoning mix? In the salad dressing aisle, you’ll find packets of ranch seasoning mix or ranch dressing mix (same thing). In my grocery stores, they are usually located towards to top of the shelves. How long will this salad last in the refrigerator? This salad will last in a lidded container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Can this broccoli cauliflower salad be made up ahead of time? Absolutely! The flavors are even better the next day, so if you’re making it for a party I would make it the night before and refrigerate overnight.
