Letting the batter sit overnight makes this coffee cake recipe irresistible! When I plan ahead and get things ready for an eventful day ahead of time, I’m always super proud of myself! The main reason is because most of the time when I have a big day ahead, I’m rushing around a few hours before trying to pull it all together. While I know that some people operate absolutely fine with that method, it stresses me out so much! Guests coming in the morning? Kids to get ready for church the next day? Pop this Overnight Coffee Cake in the fridge and bake it in the morning. You’ll be setting yourself up for success, for sure! Of course, let’s talk about this flavor. The buttermilk in the batter gave this coffee cake such a rich flavor and I just love the texture that the nutty topping gives the cake. One bite of the cake followed up by a sip of hot coffee is pure heaven in the morning! Overnight Coffee Cake Overnight Coffee Cake is perfect to make for breakfast ahead of time! Mary Ellen says August 14, 2020 at 9:36 am How much brown sugar is actually used? Recipe is confusing! If you use 1/2 cup brown sugar to start with then there’s no brown sugar remaining for the top. Reply
Kelly Miller says August 15, 2020 at 12:34 pm It’s 1 cup brown sugar total. 1/2 cup for the batter, and then 1/2 cup for the top. I edited the recipe card, sorry for that typo. Reply
