A sweet graham cracker crust topped with chocolate chips and mini marshmallows roasted in the oven. Yum!One of our favorite things to do together during the summer and into the fall is sit around our backyard firepit. It’s so peaceful and just really nice to spend some time together outside relaxing. It’s a great way to enjoy a quick s’mores treat, too!If you don’t have a firepit in your backyard, or you don’t feel like dealing with the sticky mess of traditional s’mores like we often do, these S’mores Bars are the perfect solution!A quick mixture of a graham cracker crust, layered with chocolate chips and mini marshmallows, and then these treats are baked in the oven. The mini marshmallows will get slightly browned on the top, just like traditional campfire marshmallows!Tips for serving:Have the bars cool to room temperature COMPLETELY before slicingSpray the knife with non stick spray before slicing – the melted mashmallow is VERY sticky!Where can I find graham cracker crumbs?Graham cracker crumbs are typically found in the baking aisle of the supermarket. Are semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips used in this recipe?I like to use the semi sweet, but you could certainly use the milk chocolate if you’d like. Or just use whatever is in your pantry right now, we always have a few random bags of chocolate chips in there! How to make S’mores Bars:In a bowl, beat together flour, graham cracker crumbs, brown sugar, and melted butter.Press crust firmly into a greased baking dish. Sprinkle layers of chocolate chips and marshmallows on top of the crust. Bake and cool before serving. Can S’mores Bars be frozen? You could try, though the consistency of the melted marshmallow layer might change a bit after freezing and thawing.Get the kids in the kitchen! This is a great, simple recipe to get the kids helping with in the kitchen. Allow older kids to use the hand mixer for the crust ingredients, or help out younger ones and do that part ahead of time, and then have the kids press the crust into the pan and add the chocolate and marshmallows. Sampling the ingredients is encouraged!More fun S’mores inspired recipes:S’mores Whoopie PiesS’mores CookiesS’mores CobblerS’mores NachosIf you liked this recipe for S’mores Bars, leave a rating and a comment below this post!Recipe PrintS'mores BarsS'mores Bars with graham cracker crust, chocolate chips, and mini marshmallows roasted in the oven.
