Prebaked crescent roll dough is packed with pizza sauce, mozzarella, and pepperoni for a lunch your kids will polish off at lunch time!    I’m absolutely in awe of the amazing moms out there that pack adorable and healthy bento style lunches for their kiddos every day! If you’re not familiar, bento boxes are a traditional Japanese style dish in which the entire meal is packed into a sectioned container, ready to eat. Of course they usually pack sushi, rice, and the like (can you say YUM!!) the idea has seriously taken off here in the US in a perfectly adorable way – kids’ lunches! Even though Silas is only in half day Kindergarten this year, I’m totally putting together lunches like this one for him and Wesley. It looks like a lot of work, but really, they’re easier to throw together than even just a sandwich! Find a great sectioned container that’s dishwasher safe, a few reusable silicone muffin cups, and an ice pack. That’s really all you need! The dollar store a lot of times has things that are perfect for cheap. And can I add, the kids absolutely love these lunches. Fill the larger section with some leftover pasta, sandwich, wrap, etc. and then fill the little cups with yogurt, fruit, a muffin, raw veggies, and dressing – the possibilities are endless! It’s a great way to use up some things hanging around in the fridge, too. Growing up we LOVED those lunch kits at the grocery store! I would beg my mom to get them for me, but no dice. As a mom now, she was right! They’re crazy expensive, there’s not much to them, and have you seen the ingredient list?! Insane! The few handful of times I had them, my favorite were the pizza kits. They were SO good even if they did have a million preservatives in them, haha! I used refrigerated crescent rolls for these lunches, but you can certainly use your own homemade pizza crust if you prefer. That’s the beauty of these lunches! This lunch could even be frozen as is, I would just leave out the toppings until ready to pack into the lunch box. Everything should be thawed out great by lunch time!
