These are so much healthier for your family with ground turkey, black beans and seasonings, grilled, and topped with salsa and guacamole – YUM! If you’ve been following along with me for a few months, or even just started following me here on Mostly Homemade Mom, you’ll know that we have been completely obsessed with all things GRILLED this summer! We’ve been trying lots of new things, some turned out wonderful, some not so wonderful. Of course the delicious things I’ve shared with you here the past two months, and I’m thankful for the things that didn’t end up delicious because usually that gave us great ideas for the next time around! Grilling is such a great way to enjoy some really flavorful food, without a ton of high-calorie flavorings and sauces (unless you want to add those). Let’s be honest, I’m 33 years old, a mother of 3, and my metabolism is definitely not what it used to be. I definitely indulge in my favorites, but I am on an ongoing quest to find really tasty dinners that are lower in calorie, but don’t really taste that way. Swapping out ground turkey for ground beef in recipes, especially burgers like this one, is a great way to trim off those unneeded calories. In this case, I went with a Mexican flair and added mashed black beans, crushed tortilla chips, and taco seasonings. I will say, these are definitely different than your normal grilled burgers, but they are absolutely amazing! Topped with your favorite salsa and fresh guacamole, spring mix, and a great roll – these are some absolutely delicious burgers for your next grill night!
