Chocolate Chip Applesauce Cookies By Kelly Miller • August4,2016 • Updated March 13, 2020 • 1 Comment 3.4K 2 Jump to Recipe This amazing recipe for Chocolate Chip Applesauce Cookies is perfect for back to school! They are the perfect snack or treat for tucking into a lunch box this fall! Back to school time. Sigh. It’s hard to believe the back to school rush is upon us again, isn’t it? I have one 2nd grader and one Kindergartner this year. Likewise, I have one who is totally ready to be in a new school and make new friends, and I have one who is overwhelmingly thankful that his big brother will be in the same school with him. Every time we’re in the car and we pass their school, Wesley makes some comment like, “You’re going to be in my school with me, Silas, right?” Ug, my Mommy heart can’t take much of this letting them grow up stuff. Of course, I naturally want to jump into the conversation and assure him that he’ll have so much fun, make lots of friends, and everything will be perfect in school. And as we all know, school is certainly not perfect. Kids can be mean, pushing yourself to learn and grow is uncomfortable at times, and school won’t be his favorite place to go all the time. But I also know that he definitely will have fun, make some great friends, and learn some amazing things next year. Though, I can just imagine that little lump in his throat when he fully realizes that his big brother won’t be in the same exact room as him during the school day. Yep, there goes my Mommy heart again. Excited. Nervous. Scared. Hopeful. Hmm… I feel like I’m going back to school myself! One of the few things I really like doing, at least the first few weeks of school, is making sure I make some great treats and snacks to put into their lunchboxes. Just to make the beginning of the school year a little bit more special and exciting, despite all the jitters going around. These yummy Chocolate Chip Applesauce Cookies are absolutely perfect lunch box snacks – sure to put a smile on any kiddo’s face in the lunch room! Do yourself a favor and just make a batch now before school starts so that you can treat yourself as well – these are such awesome, moist cookies! Absolutely perfect alongside a cup of coffee or a glass of milk… ask me how I know! If you liked this recipe, leave a rating and a comment below this post! KJ says August 23, 2021 at 2:19 am I used to make these cookies all the time when I was younger, this is the exact recipe but I needed a little more flour (about a half cup) because they were too runny. I also had to cook them for 12-15 min. Other than that they were perfectly delicious! Thanks Reply
