Cake Mix Sprinkle Cookies
I first made these cookies for Wesley's birthday party. They look and taste like bakery cookies! So much cheaper, too, and I LOVE that you can customize the colors yourself. We have a local grocery outlet that sells tons of colored sprinkles so I picked up orange and dark brown to make these. So cute! Make a batch of these and send them with your kids to give out at their school Halloween parties instead of candy. I was able to get 2 1/2 dozen cookies out of one batch (one box of cake mix).
Cake Mix Sprinkle Cookies
from Six Sister's Stuff
1 box cake mix (I used yellow, but white would be ideal)
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 eggs
1/2 cup oil
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup colored sprinkles
In medium bowl, mix cake mix and baking powder (ignore directions and ingredients on cake mix box). In separate smaller bowl, beat eggs, oil, and vanilla. Stir wet ingredients into dry ingredients. Roll tablespoon full scoops of cookie dough to get a smooth ball, and then roll into sprinkles. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 350 for 6-8 minutes (mine were perfect at 7 minutes). Cool on a wire rack and store in an air tight container.

oh my gosh, this...this i need. bakery cookies are my favorite, and these look just like them. do they taste like them, too?
ReplyDeleteThey're definitely more soft than the cookies in the bakery. I could taste the cake mix in them because I made them, but my husband couldn't tell that's what I used. You can't beat the price difference, though, and they still taste fantastic!
DeleteNewest follower here! I found you through the Wednesday link up! Cute blog, I can’t wait to read more!
