Spider Web Cupcakes By Kelly Miller • October18,2014 • Updated January 12, 2022 • 2 Comments 2.8K Jump to Recipe Make these adorable Spider Web Cupcakes for Halloween! Orange frosting, black decorator icing, and a toothpick are all it takes! Oh man does it ever feel like October today, brr!! I’m sitting here with my hot coffee in a hoodie and fuzzy socks and I’m still chilly – and I LOVE it! After a few days straight of soaking rain, including a cancelled soccer practice, the boys are spending their time playing OUTSIDE today enjoying this beautiful fall weather. I pretty much love every aspect of fall – the colors, the cooler weather, breaking out the long sleeves, boots, and jackets. I even love all the activities we get to experience together. My favorite all time activity in October?Trick or treating with my two crazies, hands down. I have such fond memories trick or treating as a kid in our neighborhood in Northeast Philadelphia. We wouldn’t stop until we were chilled to the bone and our entire goodie bag was so full it was digging into our hands! I’m SO excited that I get to experience all those fun memories with my two boys. Last year Wesley was still just a toddler, but the difference in him this year… sigh. He’s just not a baby anymore! These cupcakes are just an adorable way to celebrate Halloween with the little ghosts and goblins in your life. Mine went absolutely crazy for these fun spiderweb decorated cupcakes! Lucky for you, they’re REALLY easy to put together! Frost the cupcakes as you would usually. A great tip is to plop about a tablespoon in the center and then hold the knife still, and turn the cupcake instead. That makes it finish a bit smoother on the top. Snip off the end of the decorator icing tube and make a dot in the center and three circles surrounding it, like a bullseye. Take the skewer or toothpick and drag straight lines out of the center dot. Repeat this for 5 or 6 straight lines coming out of the center dot, sort of like the spokes of a wheel. Finish these adorable cupcakes with a spooky plastic spider on top! Those little plastic spider rings would also be cute as a party favor on top. Of course the ones I picked up had to include about one billion in a bag, so the boys have been leaving them all over the house trying to scare me. Unfortunately, it works. :/ Here are some more of my favorite cupcake recipes: Candy Apple Cupcakes Lemon Pudding Cupcakes Spider Web Cupcakes Spider Web Cupcakes made with cake mix, orange frosting, and black frosting. 5 from 1 vote Print Pin Rate Course: DessertCuisine: AmericanKeyword: recipe for spider web cupcakes Prep Time: 20 minutes minutesCook Time: 0 minutes minutes Servings: 24 cupcakes Calories: 232kcal Author: Kelly Miller Ingredients▢ 24 cupcakes baked and cooled▢ 2 cups orange frosting▢ black decorator icing▢ skewer or toothpick▢ 24 black plastic spiders InstructionsFrost the cupcakes as you would usually.
