Welcome to Mostly Homemade Mom! My name is Kelly and I began this hobby of mine in 2011 as a way to keep my recipes and memories in a fun way. When my husband and I got married in 2007, we ate out A LOT. And when we didn't eat out, I made the few dinners I felt we liked over and over. I lovingly refer to it as my "Hamburger Helper Days." It wasn't that I was a bad cook, I just felt pressed for time and energy. A few years ago I discovered some amazing food blogs and began experimenting with some new recipes on my family. Only most of the time, I would substitute my own shortcuts to speed up the process. No need to reinvent the wheel, right?! I am by no means a pro chef, I have a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and have been a full time classroom teacher since 2005. Even before our kids came along, I was exhausted at the end of the day from my classroom of students. Menu planning and my new found love of "mostly homemade" cooking came to the rescue!
My goal in this bloggy adventure of mine, is to inspire you to use what's already on your shelves to create new and fun meals for your family. I love my Savior, my husband, my amazing little boys, and I have a serious addiction to both my Crockpot and my Keurig machine. So happy to have you along this little foodie adventure of mine!
So... what's hanging out in your pantry? :)

Have you made any of these recipes with home made taco seasoning?
ReplyDeleteKelly- I loved your 'about page'! We have a lot in common including our deep love for our crockpots and Keurig! :) Your blog is fantastic; you and your husband should be SO proud of how far you've come from a Hamburger Helper cook! ;) haha I loved that! :)

Just started following your blog as I just started one myself! lifeislikehoney.blogspot.com Check it out :) I also love my Keurig...a little too much on some days! ;) Although I love to cook and bake, I'm still a little scared of my crockpot. Maybe some of your recipes will help me get over the hump!
ReplyDeleteOMG I just found your blog and I love it! When I discovered the greatness that is Pinterest, I started making more and more recipes for my fiance and I. I am sort of a picky eater. Not as bad as some, but I have very picky tastes, especially when it comes to veggies. So having the blog is a lot of fun and a good way to store the recipes that I make. Like you, I change the original recipe 9 times out of 10 and use box mixes or can soup to make things go faster. I really want a blog similar to yours, where you have different pages for things. Do you pay for the premium blog on blogger?
ReplyDeleteThanks, Bonnie!
