Ingredients

  • 3 lb boneless pork roast
  • 20 oz root beer
  • 1/2 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon dried minced onion
  • 20 oz bbq sauce
  • big crusty rolls

Instructions

  • Place pork roast in slow cooker and pour root beer over the roast.
  • Add seasonings.
  • Cook on low for about 5 hours. For pulled pork, look for a internal temperature around 200 - 210 degrees F.
  • (If you have time, allow the roast to rest until the temp goes down to about 170 for optimum flavor, this usually takes about an hour.)
  • Remove roast and drain slow cooker insert.
  • Return roast to slow cooker, shred with forks (I used my tongs), and add bbq sauce.
  • Mix to combine and cook on low one additional hour until heated through.
  • Serve on rolls.
