  • 3 - 5 lb whole roaster chicken
  • 2 lemons
  • 1/2 cup bbq sauce
  • 2 garlic cloves peeled


  • Slice lemons in half and squeeze juice out of lemons into a small bowl. Reserve used lemons slices.
  • Add bbq sauce to lemon juice in bowl and mix until well blended.
  • Remove giblets from inside of roaster chicken cavity.
  • Place roaster chicken in Crockpot and pat dry with a paper towel.
  • Rub lemon slices all over outside of chicken and place lemon slices inside cavity of chicken.
  • Place whole garlic cloves inside cavity of chicken.
  • Spread prepared bbq sauce-lemon juice mixture over the chicken.
  • Cover and cook on high setting for 4 hours.
  • Remove cover and check temperature of chicken in several places to make sure it's reached at least 165 degrees F.
  • Allow chicken to rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
