Fit pie crust into a 9 inch deep dish glass pie plate and set aside.
Peel, core, and chop apples into 1 inch pieces.
Place chopped apples in a large mixing bowl.
Add in sugar, flour, spices, and salt.
Stir to coat apples well.
Spread apples evenly into pie crust.
Place cold butter, flour, and brown sugar, in a smaller mixing bowl.
Using a pastry blender, small food processor, or two knives, blend the cold butter into the flour and brown sugar until coarse crumbs form.
Sprinkle crumb topping evenly over apples in pie.
Cover pie loosely with foil, and bake for 15 minutes at 425 degrees.
Remove foil and continue baking an additional 25 - 30 minutes or until topping is deep brown.
Allow pie to cool before slicing and serving.
