- 8 cups cubed French bread
- 3 apples peeled, cored, and diced small
- 8 oz cream cheese softened
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 3/4 cup milk divided
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup raisins
- 5 eggs beaten
Spray the bottom of a 9x13 baking dish with nonstick spray.
Spread half of bread cubes and apples in dish.
In a medium bowl, beat together cream cheese, brown sugar, white sugar, 1/4 cup milk, and vanilla until smooth.
Stir in raisins.
Spread over bread cubes and apples in dish.
Top with remaining bread cubes and apples.
Beat together eggs, and remaining 1 1/2 cups milk and pour evenly over casserole.
Allow to sit for 10 minutes to allow bread to soak up egg mixture.
Cover with foil and bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes.
Remove foil and bake an additional 5-10 minutes or until egg is set in center. Serve warm.
