- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 onion diced
- 6 cups water
- 3 cubes chicken bouillon
- 4 cups cooked ham diced
- 1 cup instant mashed potato flakes
- 64 oz navy beans drained and rinsed
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- dried parsley
Melt butter over medium heat in a large stockpot.
Saute onion in butter until beginning to brown on the edges.
Add in water, chicken bouillon, and ham.
Stir and bring to a boil.
Reduce heat and simmer 15 minutes.
Stir in instant mashed potato flakes, onion powder, and garlic powder.
Stir in navy beans.
Bring to a boil.
Reduce heat and simmer 30 minutes.
Serve hot with optional dried parsley sprinkled on top, if desired.
