Ingredients: over ripe bananas buttermilk applesauce flour sugar eggs baking soda salt chocolate chips

Place the over ripe bananas in a mixing bowl. Mash with the back of a fork. The bananas should be still a bit lumpy.

After the bananas are mashed, add in the chunky applesauce, buttermilk, and eggs. Mix well. Set this bowl aside.

In a separate, larger mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt. Stir this well to make sure the ingredients are mixed.

Pour the banana mixture into the bowl with the flour mixture. Make sure all of the dry ingredients are moistened.

Stir in the miniature chocolate chips. They should be fairly well incorporated throughout the batter evenly.

Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour. Check to make sure the banana bread is cooked through by inserting a skewer, or a thin knife, into the center of the bread.
