Milk, pumpkin puree, sweetened condensed milk, pumpkin pie spice, and white chocolate chips. Simmer and serve with whipped cream! The perfect festive drink! There is absolutely no need to buy those little hot chocolate packets this time of the year when recipes like this exist!! For real, this takes a matter of minutes to heat up on the stove top using mostly all shelf stable items! This Pumpkin Spice Hot Chocolate tastes exactly how it sounds! Pumpkin flavor with cinnamon and nutmeg spices and white chocolate. Perfectly sweet and comforting on a chilly day! What’s in this recipe? We’ll need a few really simple ingredients for this one: milk, a can of pumpkin puree (NOT canned pumpkin pie mix), a can of sweetened condensed milk, white chocolate chips, and pumpkin pie spice. Serve mugs of this hot chocolate with whipped cream and an extra sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice! What can I use instead of the pumpkin pie spice? Instead of the pumpkin pie spice, you can substitute half cinnamon and half ground allspice or nutmeg. Don’t sweat it! How many servings does this make? One batch makes four regular-sized mugs. Those larger glass mugs I used in the pictures, filled to the brim, would make two and a half servings. Can this recipe be doubled? Absolutely! Just make sure you have a stock pot big enough for the doubled ingredients and you’ll be good to go! What a great party drink! How to make this recipe: Grab a large stock pot (I use my usual pasta pot) and pour in the milk. Add in the pumpkin puree. 2. Next, add in the sweetened condensed milk and the pumpkin pie spice. 3. Whisk these ingredients together really well until the mixture is smooth. Heat over medium heat until simmering, but not boiling. 4. Add in the white chocolate chips. Whisk until they are completely melted. 5. Serve warm, in mugs, topped with whipped cream and an extra sprinkle of spices. So delicious! Serving ideas: Plain with mini marshmallows instead of the whipped cream Whipped cream and a drizzle of caramel ice cream topping Cinnamon sticks Can this be made in the Crockpot? Yes! Make up the batch (or batches) ahead of time on the stovetop and then transfer the hot chocolate to the slow cooker. Keep it on “keep warm” setting. This is a great idea if you’re serving this at a party!
