I’m so ready for Thanksgiving and I can’t wait to make this Crockpot Thanksgiving Dinner for my family this year. WOW does it feel like November today, woohoo! For the past two days I’ve been contemplating turning the air conditioner on in our house. Between the weird, humid, mid-70 degree weather, and a newborn constantly sleeping on me, it was HOT in this house! Reuben was loving it though, this baby needs to be snuggled and cuddly warm to fall deep asleep. I’m honestly on the hunt for a few more fleece footed pajamas for him for when the weather starts getting really cold! I know every phase lasts for a small time, but he’s really turning out to be a great sleeper already. I’m knocking on wood at the moment, can you tell?! In all honesty, both Silas and Wesley were fantastic sleepers from very early on, so we really can’t complain about that. Silas was sleeping through the night at 7 weeks old, and Wesley was sleeping 10 hours straight, only waking up once in the middle of the night to eat. Reuben already, at 5 weeks old, is sleeping 3-4 hours at a time! …so can someone explain to me why in the heck I’m still SO tired all the time?! Crockpot Thanksgiving Dinner … so easy! Kelly Miller says November 25, 2020 at 2:23 pm I would give it the full 8-10 hours to make sure it’s done since bone-in meat takes longer than boneless. I would just make sure it fits fully in the Crockpot, though! Reply
Cristin G. says December 1, 2020 at 1:22 am Hi Kelly! I was so excited to do a Thanksgiving 2020 part 2 for my fiancé and I using your recipe! Because we did this right after thanksgiving, there were no more 3lb whole turkeys to be found in store so we used 2 bone-in Turkey thighs which clocked in at about 3 lbs together. We laid these into the bottom of our 4.5qt crock pot (tight fit but it worked) and followed the rest of the recipe as normal! We cooked on high for about 6 hours and WOW – it’s delicious! The meat fell right off the bone and, while the stuffing was still crunchy on the top (probably because we used a smaller crockpot), a few stirs in the juices left them with a perfect consistency! We are storing it in our crockpot in the fridge and reheating in the oven as we work through it for dinner this week – if you have any good storage or reheating suggestions, let me know! Kelly Miller says December 1, 2020 at 1:22 pm Cristin, I’m SO glad you and your fiance loved this recipe!! I’m glad to hear the 2 bone in turkey thighs worked out well! As far as reheating, you could reheat it in the oven though if the Crockpot is chilled with it, it might take quite a bit to warm it up. I’d probably store it in a tupperware container in the fridge and then transfer it to an oven-safe dish, or even microwave heating a serving at a time would work as well. Kelly Miller says November 6, 2021 at 3:27 pm That would probably work fine, as long as it fits along with all the other ingredients in your Crockpot. I would definitely test with a meat thermometer to make sure it’s cooked though, bone in meat usually takes longer to cook. I hope that helps! Reply
Eva says November 20, 2021 at 7:03 pm We just got a 3 lb turkey breast that says “no thaw — freezer to oven.” I assume I should still thaw before doing this crockpot recipe, though. Would 48 hours in the fridge be sufficient to thaw, do you think? Reply

Jasmine says November 25, 2021 at 5:43 pm I was alone for Thanksgiving this year so rather than dirty every dish in the house I opted for this. It actually came out really well, My only suggestion would be to add less liquid, and maybe cook the stuffing on the side as it was a bit soggy. Otherwise this is a great and easy turkey dinner for any time of year. Reply
