Loaded Philly Cheese Steak Nachos

Why yes, we are Philadelphia Eagles fans in the Miller household, in case you were wondering. 😜 We've lived here in South Central Pennsylvania for the past 8 years, in the middle of farmland and Amish country, but both Paul and I were born and raised in Northeast Philadelphia. As Philly kids, the following were regular experiences in our childhoods:

  • Weekly fresh-baked soft pretzels sold at school for snack time
  • Being able to buy the same soft pretzels at literally EVERY busy intersection in our neighborhood
  • Having to dump out our trick-or-treat bags half way through Halloween because the row houses were so close together!
  • Riding the bus, then the "El" (elevated train), then the bus ONE WAY to middle school and high school
  • Visiting the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, and the Philadelphia Zoo on a yearly basis on school trips
  • Rooting for our beloved Eagles every year!!

Of course we feel extremely blessed to raise our kids in our area now. I absolutely love my memories of growing up in the city. I wouldn't change it for the world!

Paul grew up a big baseball fan and, if I'm being completely honest, I really was never much into sports as a kid. We always went to various games with our church and school groups and I will say, I absolutely LOVED going to Eagles football games! They were so fun! We all arrived at the stadium in our green, black, and gray Starter jackets (yes, I'm dating myself here) to watch a great game of football and enjoy our favorite stadium snack - nachos and cheese!

Now that we have 3 little boys of our own, we are really starting to get them into watching football games on TV this time of the year. I'm always trying new snack ideas on game nights. These Loaded Philly Cheese Steak Nachos are the perfect homage to my old neighborhood's famous cheesesteaks - only this time, I've served them on top of my favorite Mission® Thin & Crispy Tortilla Chips!

If you're wondering, from a native Philadelphian here, true cheesesteaks are served with American cheese and optional: sautéed peppers and onions. I always liked ketchup on my cheesesteaks growing up and these loaded nachos are perfect dipped in ketchup as well. Your family will go crazy for this recipe during your next game night!

Mission Tortilla Chips and Mission Tortillas are the perfect addition to your game day menu! I used these incredible Mission Thin + Crispy Tortilla Chips as the base for these nachos. With four simple ingredients, these are absolutely restaurant-style quality that's delicious straight out of the bag. I can't wait to use the Mission Street Tacos Corn Tortillas next. They are great for snacking and appetizers! Use them doubled up for a more authentic experience!
