As of last week, we officially have a Kindergartner! Wesley finished up his last day of preschool with a fun picnic among his friends last Friday. His preschool teacher was the hit of the day as she pulled out two gigantic boxes filled with bouncy balls for each kid. Seriously, he went to one of the best preschools we could have ever picked and I’m SO thankful for all of his teachers! As far as Kindergarten was concerned, however, that’s exactly what we were. Concerned. He has a late summer birthday. And he’s a boy. And we’re moving and the new school district has full-day kindergarten. Gulp. So we had him in for their evaluations and I got a phone call from the new school counselor. He’s doing great for his age, and I was told they would love to have him enter Kindergarten next year! Yay! I was really happy, of course, until I realized that it officially means he starts “big kid” school next year. I guess he’s definitely ready for it, but I’m not. :/ At least we have the whole summer to have fun and spend time together. We’re planning on having a fun get-together to celebrate at these little Beach Sand Pudding Desserts are perfect for summer BBQs and birthday parties! I was able to find sets of the mini beach pails at Hobby Lobby, but these available on Amazon are super cute and they come with beach toys as well. You could make these with Golden Oreos instead of the vanilla wafers as well, though I feel like the vanilla wafers look much more like real sand!
