This delicious smoothie tastes just like a PB&J sandwich! Sugar free and dairy free, too!

It's very hard to imagine that this time last year we had no idea we would be growing from a family of 4 to a family of 5! And now we have an adorable, smiley, teething four-month-old who's favorite things include his brothers, his rainforest playmat, and - above all - eating! 2015 sure was a wild year for the Miller family!

I wish I could say it was an enjoyable year, but for me it was not. This pregnancy was the most difficult for me! I was very nauseous most of the time, with the only foods that didn't turn my stomach being junk food - usually of the drive-thru variety. Let's just say it'll be a LONG time before I go through a drive-thru for burgers and fries again!

So when this fall rolled around, closer and closer to my due date, not only was I extremely excited to meet this new little boy, I was also excited to get back to feeling like my old self again. I love, love LOVE smoothies and unfortunately it was one of the things I couldn't stomach for 9 months, so of course I've been smoothie obsessed since Reuben was born!

Let's just say, "New Year, New You," could not describe me any better in 2016 - and this AMAZING Peanut Butter & Jelly Smoothie is the perfect way to join with me! With two little boys eating us out of house and home, needless to say I make the classic PB&J's several times per week - and now I can enjoy it too!

Peanut Butter & Jelly Smoothie

Ingredients
  • 1 cup Silk Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk
  • 1 cup frozen mixed berries
  • 1/4 cup Silk Dairy-Free Vanilla Yogurt
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup ice
  • 2 tablespoons powdered peanut butter
  • Optional: sugar-free or natural sweetener to taste
Cooking Directions
  1. Place all ingredients in a blender and process until smooth. Serve immediately.

Oh man, this smoothie is such an awesome start to the day!

I really love using Silk products in my kitchen, primarily because they are both dairy and lactose free - which means no worries to my sensitive stomach! Their Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk has been my favorite traditional milk swap in my smoothies for a long time now. Less calories than milk with 50% more calcium and no cholesterol or saturated fat. Plus, Silk's Dairy Free Yogurt contains 6 grams of soy protein per serving, is gluten free, and offers the same great taste and flavors as traditional yogurt! I just love all these choices in the dairy department of Walmart - very easy to locate and try at home.
