Crumbled cornbread and potato bread with soups, spices, and chicken broth slow cooks in the Crockpot for one of the best dressing recipes ever - perfect for your Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner!

You guys. I am SO EXCITED to walk into stores this week and see Christmas decorations! Like, jumping up and down inside, giddy with excitement - not even kidding!

I know, I know - I see the memes on Facebook - one holiday at a time. We haven't even been through Thanksgiving yet, there's no need to rush! Let's enjoy the rest of the fall season before we get into all the gift buying, baking, and running around.

And do you know what I say to all of that? BAH HUMBUG!

Honestly, I absolutely love Thanksgiving - it's right up there with Christmas for me. Maybe even better than Christmas because there's no stress buying gifts for everyone and having everything be "just right" for the kids. Plus, FOOD! There is no other holiday that centers it's celebration around food as much as Thanksgiving. And we all know how obsessed with cooking, and eating yummy goodies I am.

Really, though, I love it all! Can we enjoy Thanksgiving AND the beginning of the Christmas season at the same time? Is there anything wrong with that? I think not. I absolutely cannot wait to enjoy a our annual Thanksgiving feast with all of our little "turkeys", especially our newest "turkey." And yet, I'm just so much looking forward to seeing their excited little faces when we start seeing Christmas lights and decorations everywhere. I want to celebrate it all, who's with me?!

This Slow Cooker Cornbread Stuffing is an amazing way to make deliciously moist and flavorful stuffing, without taking up valuable space in that oven for that bird! I'm super lucky that my mom has both a double oven and a regular gas oven, but even with all that space - things get crowded as they cook! This is such a great solution, plus it tastes amazing!

Slow Cooker Cornbread Stuffing

  • 8 1/2 oz box cornbread stuffing mix, prepared and cooled
  • 8 slices potato bread, torn
  • 4 eggs, beaten
  • 2 stalks celery, diced
  • 2 cans cream of chicken soup
  • 4 cups Swanson 100% Natural Chicken Broth, divided
  • 1 tablespoon sage
Cooking Directions
  1. Crumble cornbread stuffing into a large mixing bowl. Add remaining ingredients (only 3 cups chicken broth) and mix well. Pour into a lightly greased slow cooker. Cover and cook on low 4 hours. Add additional chicken broth as needed to moisten if stuffing becomes dry.

This stuffing is the perfect side dish to your turkey, roast chicken, or ham dinner this holiday season!

I honestly feel like during the holidays I need to buy stock in chicken broth because I go through so much this time of year!

On my last grocery trip to Walmart, I picked up Swanson 100% Natural Chicken Broth, it really enhances the flavors in whatever dish you're cooking. It's really a unique blend of flavors trusted by many chefs, so I know I'm using an ingredient that will be absolutely delicious! What holiday recipes do you use chicken broth in?
