Show & Share Wednesday #34

April 24, 2013

Hello everyone! I can't tell you how honored I am that you choose to link up here each Wednesday. There were so many great links last week, it was SO hard to pick the features!

If you didn't catch my post on Monday, we are desperately seeking donations for my Father in law. He is on the liver transplant list at one of the nation's best hospitals, but his insurance will end in June.

He is an amazing "Pops" to our kids and is a US Veteran - something we're so very proud of. Please consider making a donation to his Give Forward page if you could, 100% goes towards medical costs. Every little bit helps! Thank you!!

Ok, on to the features for this week. :)

Saucilicious Slow Cooker Pork Chops - Chatting Over Chocolate

Daily Shower Spray - Home Hearted

Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich Cookies - Circus Berry

Crockpot Chicken Tortilla Soup - Mommy on Demand

Crunchy Cinnamon French Toast - Table for 7

Let's party!

  10. Thank you for hosting. I am thinking about your father-in-law and sending prayers. I am so sorry you are going through that. I hope you get the donations you need. I hope he can get the "Cobra" insurance or something. Hugs.

    1. Thanks so much Karen! He has the Cobra insurance now, that's what will be running out in June. We're hoping for the premiums to get covered in some way. It's all so complicated! Prayers are welcomed. :)

  15. Hey darlin'. Thank you so much for hosting a great party every week. I certainly hope that your fundraising efforts are successful. Some good friends of ours had a situation with their brother that was in an accident and needed several different surgeries they had a big silent auction that was incredibly successful at raising funds. They had donations from friends, family, and businesses in the community. An idea to consider anyway. Good luck. Krista @ A Handful of Everything

    1. Krista, that is a great idea. My mom has given me the idea of a benefit BBQ this summer, but a silent auction might be better. My FIL and husband's side of the family is spread all over PA and that might be more feasible. Thanks for the kind words, too!

  16. Thanks for hosting!!! I hope everything works out well for "Pops" :)

  17. So sorry to hear about your FIL. My Dad had Leukemia and had a bone marrow transplant. It is a scary thing to go through. I guess your family has checked into state assistance (it's called Medicaid here), Medicare, Veteran's assistance programs? I researched a lot of different avenues when we were waiting for a donor. Thankfully a match was found and he is currently cancer free and doing well. Wishing your family all the best.

    1. So happy for your Dad, Kim! That gives us hope. Yes, my husband's wonderful aunts are leaving no stone unturned to get Joe the help that he needs. We are looking into Medicaid and the VA, both will be a bit of a challenge. But thank you so much for the kind words - we're hoping for a liver soon, that way we can be done with all this and get on with living life!

  18. Thank you so much for hosting! This is my first time linking up here and wow- what a great party:) I am so sorry about your father in law- I will be praying and sending healing thoughts your way!
