Cut Tulips for Valentine's Day

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of iBulb for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Tulips are one of my favorite flowers. I love how elegant looking they are. It's amazing how much nicer a bouquet of cut flowers can make the atmosphere in your house! I splurged this week on my trip to Giant and I came home with this small bouquet of white cut tulips. They had pretty pink ones perfect for Valentine's Day, but for some reason I wanted the small, closed up white ones. For seven bucks, what the heck, right?

So I decided to plop them right in the middle of the kitchen table. I didn't care how many time I have to yell at kids to get off the table, that's where I wanted them! Our downstairs is small, and everytime I open that front door I catch a glimpse of those flowers. Overnight they opened up - beautiful!

Do you decorate for Valentine's Day? I usually don't, but for some reason I decided to. It could have been the hours I've spent on Pinterest seeing all the adorable red, pink, and white stuff. Valentine's Day is definitely not a major holiday, so I wanted to try and use items that I already had. I made the frame on the right with some scrapbooking materials I had lying around. Love the quote, "Now I know what love is." :)

Tulips are a great choice for Valentine's Day. A bit of spring in the house in the middle of winter! Plus, you can't beat a display of flowers for under $10 that you can just pick up on your normal grocery shopping trip. They're so versatile, too! Here's some more great ideas from iBulb:

What's your favorite flower for Valentine's Day? No more roses in this house! Life just got a little bit easier for  Paul. :) Be sure to visit iBulb's Pinterest page for more ideas for displaying cut tulips.

  3. Tulips are one of my favorite flowers.. I would rather have a tulip then a rose. I think I just might go and buy myself some tulips now... as I don't think hubby will as he thinks it is a waste of money :) I don't normally decorate for Valentines but this year I did a little in my dining room.. Did a tablescape and a small decoration on my hutch. Found you on Feeding Big - In and out of the kitchen. Newest Follower.
