Pizza Pasta Bake

July 13, 2011
I've seen many versions of this recipe in blogland over the past few months and I wanted to take my own crack at it. We loved the way it turned out!

Pizza Pasta Bake
1lb ziti
1lb ground beef
1/2 pack pepperoni
2 (15oz) jars pizza sauce, or you can use homemade
4 cups shredded mozzarella
garlic powder

While pasta is cooking in boiling water, brown ground beef in skillet. Drain and add chopped pepperoni (reserve about 15 slices), pizza sauce, oregano, and garlic powder. Allow to simmer about 10 minutes. Pour ground beef mixture into pot with drained, cooked pasta. Add 2 cups mozarella and mix well. Pour into a 9x13 baking dish (or two 8x8 dishes). Sprinkle remaining cheese and top with remaining slices of pepperoni. Bake at 350 for 10-15 minutes or until mozzarella is melted.
